Timbertop is Geelong Grammar Schools Year 9 fullboarding campus situated in Victorias high country near Mansfield. It offers a comprehensive academic and outdoor education program designed to take full advantage of the magnificent natural environment to provide a lifechanging experience for students. We are currently seeking a fulltime Teacher of Outdoor Education and/or an Outdoor Education Instructor to commence in Term 2 or Term 3 2025.
About the role:
The key responsibilities of the Outdoor Education Instructor include;
Planning and implementing outdoorrelated activities
Communicating with the Director of Outdoor Education about any problems or issues as they arise and provide reports where required
Assistingin planning for the safety and welfare of all students and staff whilst involved in all outdoor activities overnight day trips or multiple day trips
Coordination of all logistics associated with the programming planning and running of outdoor activities
Teaching Outdoor Education classes
About you:
The successful candidate must have:
VIT registration and previous teaching experience. Alternatively consideration may be given to appointing an Outdoor Education Instructor with significant experience in a similar role
A degree or recognised equivalent qualification in the field of Outdoor Education/Instruction
An ability to participate in the Timbertop Outdoor Education running wellbeing and pastoral programmes
A high level of physical fitness
Extensive experience in the specific fields of bushwalking ideally in the NorthEast Alpine Region
Experience coordinating programmes along with leading teenagers in the outdoors
Experience in a Boarding School environment
