Senior Mental Health Recovery Practitioner

About the Role

Reporting to the Bunbury Service Managerthe Senior Mental Health Recovery Practitioner at Richmind plays a crucial role in supporting individuals living with serious and persistent mental distress assisting them in their journey towards recovery and helping them achieve the life they desire.This role provides an environment within the Recovery Programthat enables consumers to confidently embark on a journey of recovery and to attain the kind of life they desire. Under the guidance of the Service Manager the role will also form part of the Senior Leadership team on site.

Consumer Support and Recovery

• Support the development and review of personalised recovery plans in line with policies promoting essential life skills
• Engage families carers and significant others in the recovery planning process respecting consumer consent
• Handle critical incidents following organisational policies and procedures
• Facilitate recoveryoriented group programs and 1:1 keywork sessions for up to five residents to support mental health and wellbeing

Operational Excellence

• Supervise Recovery Support Workers and ensure accurate timely documentation of consumer information.
• Contribute to policy and procedure development and promote best practices in mental health recovery.
• Manage and reconcile petty cash attend essential servicebased meetings.
• Assist the Service Manager with reporting and compliance requirements
• Work as part of a leadership team directed by the Service Manager with the capabilities and willingness to take on higher duties as required.

Recovery Planning and Evaluation

• Support the development of personcentered recovery plans and crisis management strategies with regular review and oversight. .
• Support the Service Manager to oversee and ensure service excellence.
• Develop therapeutic relationships with consumers and support them in setting and achieving recovery goals.
• Work effectively and in partnership with clinical partners and external stakeholder agencies to build the capacity of the service to meet the needs of our consumers.

About the Service

Bunbury Community Supported Residential Units

Conveniently located in Carey Parkthe Bunbury Community Supported Residential Units (CSRU)provides a safe and supportive environment for people to live in whilst participating in a program designed to assist individuals in their personal journey towards mental health recovery.

The facility is easily accessible via public transport and situated next to a tranquil local park.

The service is staffed 24/7 and providesa Recovery Program with supported accommodation for 15 consumers for between 12 24 months. The service consists of seven units set in a homelike environment that supports people on their recovery journey.

With a trauma informed personcentred and recoverybased approach Bunbury CSRU supports residents to develop and reach individual goals work towards independent living skills make informed choices develop social skills connect with family and community clinical and nonclinical supports.

A tailored approach to meeting individual needs sees consumers work closely with their onsite Mental Health Recovery Practitioner and Recovery Support Workers and connecting to external agencies to achieve their recovery goals where required.

About You

To be considered for this role you will need to have;

Qualifications and Certificates

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant human services field and substantial experience.
• Current National Police Clearance Certificate(no older than six months)
• A valid First Aid and CPR Certificate (HLTAID011 Provide First Aid HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
• A current working with Children Check

• A valid Drivers licence

Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 3 years experience in mental health with case management and counselling skills.
• Knowledge and practice in mental health recovery principles and understanding community and primary health care sectors.
• Experience working in residential settings with people experiencing mental ill health (desirable).
• Proven ability in group facilitation and conflict management.
• Familiarity with relevant mental health agencies and administrative tasks like rostering.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with consumers families colleagues and external stakeholders.
• Ability to maintain flexible boundaries that support a transparent recoveryfocused environment.

Desirable

• Lived experience of mental health recovery or as family members of people with a lived experience of recovery is desirable

Attitude

• Positive attitude towards people experiencing mental distress.
• The ability to live RW values in all workplace tasks and interactions.
• Proactive individual who is enthusiastic and committed to upholding RW values and principles

This role is fulltime working Monday to Friday based at our Bunbury CSRU site.
