About the Role:
We are seeking a resultsdriven Operations Manager to lead and oversee the daytoday functions of the Melbourne depot. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring operational efficiency team leadership and seamless freight distribution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics people management and process optimization within a fastpaced 24/7 environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all depot operations ensuring smooth and efficient functioning across all areas.
  • Manage and optimize depot workflow ensuring effective freight allocation and compliance with relevant industry standards.
  • Lead develop and motivate a highperforming team ensuring that all employees are engaged and meet performance standards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols operational procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement aiming to increase operational efficiency and reduce costs where possible.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational performance and develop strategies for improvement.
  • Address and resolve operational issues and customer complaints promptly to ensure high service levels.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination of logistics operations.
  • Be available outside of standard hours for urgent operational needs including afterhours support.
  • Manage depot resources ensuring proper maintenance of equipment vehicles and other assets.
  • Ensure effective communication within the team and with other departments providing updates and resolving issues as necessary.


Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Logistics Supply Chain Management Business or a related field (preferred).
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g. Transport and Logistics qualifications WHS certifications) are a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Depot Manager or in a senior operational role within the transport and logistics sector.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage motivate and develop a team.
  • Indepth knowledge of depot operations freight allocation and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Willingness to be available outside of standard hours for urgent operational needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in using logistics management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel interstate occasionally 12 times per year).
