Job Description
Reports to: SWOT Team
Key responsibilities:
- Accountable for the successful endtoend commissioning of the Building Management System with the relevant integration of SCADA and other systems related to HVAC lighting plumbing firefighting and security etc.
- Accountable for the successfully endtoend commissioning of additional systems (e.g. smart homes other IoT based systems) and their integration with the BMS
- Accountable for the overall design philosophy and integration architecture of the various subsystems to provide a seamless experience and very high reliability
- Manages the selection and appointment of technical firms who will stress test the designs submitted by the executing agency (or OEMs) and ensure that they will be easy to integrate and commission
- Accountable for working with technical firms to ensure that the designs are of highquality easy to integrate and commission and delivered on time
- Accountable to ensure all practices and their consultants are progressing to deliver their mandate as per the schedule and have the required information ahead of requirement.
- Liaising with other teams as needed
- Making sure that design information is available to those who need it when they need it
- Ensures maintaining thorough documentation of all processes along all practices
- Reviews potential innovation and value engineering solutions
- Ensures there is consistency in the design principles that are applied across all projects
- Ensure recording of information onto the document management system by practice Design Managers as the information is created and inform others
- Complete the relevant processes linked to identifying Risks and completing the Risk Register
- Knowledge of HSE and related criteria during commissioning
- Monitor performance against design to ensure that the subsystems are performing optimally
- Responsible for overseeing recruitment work allocation and evaluation competency building activities for the department
Background and Skills:
- Knowledge and previous experience in KSA is a plus
- Knowledge and 20 years of experience in commissioning various systems/subsystems on the LV side of mixeduse development project knowledgeable about key principles in design construction engineering and building regulations associated with various subsystems
- Knowledge of systems in an integrated BMS (Building Management System) which controls all major systems in a building like HVAC plumbing lighting firefighting and security systems
- Knowledge of additional systems that exist in highend mixed use developments like smart homes IoT based automation of various facilities within the premises
- Knowledge of how to work with specialist organizations/ consultants that design these systems understanding of what it takes to ensure seamless integration and reliability of these systems at the design stage itself
- Knowledge of how to install these systems on the ground (e.g. SCADA) working with different types of specialist contractors
- Knowledge of how the OEMs for some of the critical equipment that are a part of these systems work including an understanding of warranty/ guarantee periodic servicing etc.
- Organized analytical with excellent problemsolving skills proactive good team player and able to meet tight deadline
- Ability to manage multiple design practice managers
- Good interpersonal skills effective coordination across leadership and ability to work with others
- Experience in managing multiple design disciplines and projects
- Ability to identify critical design decisions ahead of schedule
Education:
- Degree or above in engineering / architecture or Construction Management
- 20 yearsexperience
- Excellent written and spoken English
