Description of the role:
The Banquet Cook at Park Place Hotel in Traverse City MI is a vital part of our culinary team. They are responsible for preparing delicious and highquality dishes for banquets weddings and other special events hosted at our hotel. Attention to detail organization and creativity are essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items following recipes and presentation standards
- Coordinate with the Banquet Chef to ensure timely delivery of dishes
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Assist in menu planning and development
Requirements:
- Prior experience as a cook in a banquet or catering setting
- Knowledge of various cooking methods ingredients equipment and procedures
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fastpaced environment
- Attention to detail and organization skills

Responsibilities
- Prepare or direct preparation of food served using established production procedures
- Determine amount and type of food and supplies required using production systems
- Learn menus recipes preparation and presentation.
- Comply with established sanitation standards personal hygiene and health standards
- Correctly prepare all food served following standard recipes and special diet orders
- Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence quality temperature and appearance of food is preserved
- Keep work area neat and clean at all times; clean and maintain equipment used in food preparation
- Prep all food for next shift and for the following day
- Work with servers to ensure guest satisfaction and resolve complaints about food service as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum 1year experience cooking at a restaurant or fullservice hotel preferred
- Culinary school 24 year degree preferred
- Availability to work nights weekends holidays depending on business needs
