Job Description
Senior Systems Engineer FullTime Hybrid Michigan or Minnesota
As a Senior Systems Engineer you are a key member of the Infrastructure Development andOptimization team which provides support for server database network and storage solutions. In thisrole you will be responsible for delivering quality technical solutions while providing guidance andexpertise to clients and team members. As a proven Subject Matter Expert on projects and technologiesyou will also be responsible for providing guidance to Systems Engineers and Associate SystemsEngineers of the practice.
What Youll Accomplish:
Assist Domain and Solution Architects in design and architecture of infrastructuresolutions encompassing servers networks storage virtualization and cloudtechnologies.
Analyze infrastructure performance metrics identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies anddevelop strategies to optimize performance reliability and scalability.
Contribute to breaking out objectives and larger work items into tasks. Helps ensurethe team understands the tasks that are assigned. Proactively takes ownership oftasks. Takes the lead on calling out risks in the technical work.
Produce runbooks and processes to scale work to other team members especiallyEngineers and Associate Engineers.
Conduct security assessments risk assessments and compliance audits andrecommend and implement remediation measures to address vulnerabilities and ensureadherence to regulatory requirements.
Ensure the security and compliance of client infrastructure environments byimplementing and maintaining robust security controls policies and procedures.
Cultivate strong relationships with clients serving as a trusted advisor oninfrastructure matters.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment encouraging knowledge sharingcollaboration and innovation.
Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to understand business requirementsand develop scalable resilient and costeffective infrastructure designs.
Communicate technical concepts effectively to nontechnical stakeholders buildingconfidence and trust in our capabilities.
Serve as a subject matter expert in infrastructure technologies providing advancedtechnical support and troubleshooting assistance as needed.
May own Root Cause Analysis for incidents and lead retros for smaller projects as wellas defines any remediation tasks.
Develop documentation to refine the work we do.
Serve as the technical lead on infrastructure projects providing guidance oversightand direction to project teams.
Stay abreast of emerging trends best practices and industry standards ininfrastructure management and share knowledge with colleagues to foster a culture ofcontinuous learning and improvement.
Understand client business objectives challenges and pain points and recommendtailored solutions to address their needs.
Implement automation orchestration and monitoring solutions to enhance operationalefficiency and reduce manual intervention.
Mentor and coach associate and midlevel engineers providing guidance support andopportunities for skill development and career advancement.
Manages own time and task prioritization and does not require direct supervision.Takes on tasks in areas where they are skilled with minimal technical instructions.Proactively takes on new tasks.
Subject Matter Expert in multiple skillsets typically within a single domain (IDOsfocus). Expected to continue pursuit of new technology to align with industry direction.
Understand client business objectives challenges and pain points and recommendtailored solutions to address their needs.
Implement automation orchestration and monitoring solutions to enhance operationalefficiency and reduce manual intervention.
Mentor and coach associate and midlevel engineers providing guidance support andopportunities for skill development and career advancement.
Manages own time and task prioritization and does not require direct supervision.Takes on tasks in areas where they are skilled with minimal technical instructions.Proactively takes on new tasks.
Subject Matter Expert in multiple skillsets typically within a single domain (IDOsfocus). Expected to continue pursuit of new technology to align with industry direction.
May be expected to achieve certifications in their area of skillset for Vervintcertification needs (partner levels required).
Create the technical designs for smaller engagements standardized solutions orassigned outcomes in a project.
What Youll Bring:
Demonstrated ability to perform tasks with minimal direction taking ownership and beingaccountable for results.
Strong expertise in infrastructure technologies including servers networks storagevirtualization cloud computing and security.
CCNA Azure or AWS certifications preferred.

Comprehensive understanding and application of technical principles theories and concepts.

Desire to expand technical skillset through training certifications and/or exposure to a varietyof assessments.
Proven ability to analyze complex technical problems develop innovative solutions and makedatadriven decisions.
Ability to think strategically and translate business requirements into technical solutions thatalign with organizational objectives.
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clientscolleagues and executive stakeholders including the ability to probe and question to elicit thetrue requirements of a project in a respectful and responsible way.
Time management skills delivering project tasks on time.
Collaborative mindset with demonstrated ability to train mentor and coach other engineers.
Ability to facilitate collaboration between internal and external stakeholders to meet goals.
Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree in computer science engineering or related field OR a combination ofeducation and experience.
At least 57 years of related experience in the field.
