Global Technology Organization Architecture and Standards: Within IQVIAs Global Technology and Operations function the Architecture & Standards organizations mission is to enhance efficiency speed quality interoperability and alignment of IQVIAs technology by establishing the IQVIA way. Our vision is to foster a developerfirst culture that promotes collaboration across siloed software development and other technology teams.
Technical Architecture Team: The Technical Domain Architecture team consists of handson engineers with expertise in various technical domains. They define and maintain IQVIA architecture standards and reference architectures build reference implementations and provide guidance to engineering teams during the technical design committee process. In addition technical architects will lead agile guilds for their domain communities of practice that share technical knowledge across IQVIAs federated engineering teams.
The Positions Overview/Elevator Pitch: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Applications Architect to join our Technical Domain Architecture team within the Architecture and Standards Group of our Global Technology Organization. As the principal application architect you will be responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of application reference architectures that align with IQVIAs strategic goals. Your focus will be on leveraging frontend Javascript frameworks such as React mobile application frameworks and the use of services like Salesforce Health Cloud. You will collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure that our applications are robust scalable and adhere to best practices and standards.
Essential Functions:
- Author Standards and Best Practices: Establish and enforce architectural standards and best practices to ensure consistency quality and alignment with industry standards across all application development projects at IQVIA. Create and maintain reference architectures that serve as blueprints for various application types.
- Collaboration: Lead the Web Development Guild and collaborate with crossfunctional teams including software developers information architectsDevOps and security experts.
- Innovation: Serve as the application architecture thought leader. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in application architecture.
- Developer Productivity and Experience: Contribute to the design of the Internal Developer Platform (DevIQ) related to application architecture. Develop and maintain application reference architectures and shared libraries that will be included as templates in our internal developer platform.
- Vendor and Tool Evaluation: Evaluate and recommend new application framework technologies and tools. Lead proofofconcept initiatives to assess the viability of new application solutions.
- Mentorship: Lead and mentor organizations in adopting application architecture best practices and methodologies.
- Compliance: Ensure that all application architectures comply with regulatory requirements security standards and organizational policies
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in application architecture and software development
- Indepth knowledge of frontend Javascript frameworks like React mobile app frameworks and application services like Saleforce Health Cloud.
- Deep understanding of microfrontend and backend for frontend design patterns
- Proficiency with programming languages like Javascript Typescript Swift and Java
- Understanding of SSO protocols like OpenID Connect and SAML
- Indepth experience as a consumer of Rest and GraphQL APIs
- Proficiency with web analytics tools like Google Analytics
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including jobrelated qualifications such as knowledge skills education and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or parttime). Dependent on the position offered incentive plans bonuses and/or other forms of compensation may be offered in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
