Job Description
Reports To: VP Engineering
- Lead the design and development of power distribution products ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g. UL 1640 NEC IEEE).
- Drive projects through all phases of the Phase Gate development process from concept to production launch.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including engineering operations marketing and sales to ensure successful product .
- Develop technical specifications system architectures and component selection for power distribution units.
- Perform electrical and mechanical design analysis including load calculations thermal management and protection coordination.
- Ensure products meet safety quality and performance requirements conducting validation testing and supporting certification efforts.
- Support manufacturing and supply chain teams with designformanufacturing (DFM) and designforassembly (DFA) considerations.
- Identify and implement costsaving measures while maintaining product integrity.
- Stay updated on industry trends emerging technologies and competitive products.
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Masters degree is a plus.
- 5 years of experience in product development with a focus on power distribution electrical enclosures or related industries.
- Familiarity with Phase Gate or StageGate product development processes.
- Strong understanding of electrical power distribution principles including AC/DC power circuit protection and metering.
- Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks AutoCAD) and electrical design tools (EPLAN Altium or similar).
- Knowledge of UL NEC NFPA and IEC standards.
- Experience with IoTenabled power products is a plus.
- Strong problemsolving and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
