Senior Project Engineer
Department: Engineering Shelton CT

Reports To: VP Engineering
About Lex Products
Lex Products is an innovative manufacturer of power distribution and energy storage solutions serving industrial commercial entertainment and military markets. Our products are designed to deliver reliable highperformance power distribution in demanding environments. We are currently expanding our power distribution unit (PDU) product line and seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead key development efforts.
Position Summary
The Senior Project Engineer will play a critical role in the design development and launch of new power distribution products. This position requires expertise in electrical and mechanical systems regulatory compliance and product development. The ideal candidate will have industry experience in power distribution with a strong understanding of Phase Gate product development processes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of power distribution products ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g. UL 1640 NEC IEEE).
  • Drive projects through all phases of the Phase Gate development process from concept to production launch.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including engineering operations marketing and sales to ensure successful product .
  • Develop technical specifications system architectures and component selection for power distribution units.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical design analysis including load calculations thermal management and protection coordination.
  • Ensure products meet safety quality and performance requirements conducting validation testing and supporting certification efforts.
  • Support manufacturing and supply chain teams with designformanufacturing (DFM) and designforassembly (DFA) considerations.
  • Identify and implement costsaving measures while maintaining product integrity.
  • Stay updated on industry trends emerging technologies and competitive products.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Masters degree is a plus.
  • 5 years of experience in product development with a focus on power distribution electrical enclosures or related industries.
  • Familiarity with Phase Gate or StageGate product development processes.
  • Strong understanding of electrical power distribution principles including AC/DC power circuit protection and metering.
  • Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks AutoCAD) and electrical design tools (EPLAN Altium or similar).
  • Knowledge of UL NEC NFPA and IEC standards.
  • Experience with IoTenabled power products is a plus.
  • Strong problemsolving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
