The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is currently looking to hire a Seasonal Park Maintenance Worker. This role is essential for supporting the upkeep of various facilities within Washington Crossing Historic State Park including its buildings trails bridges educational spaces vehicles and equipment as well as its natural resources. In this role you will be responsible for a variety of general maintenance tasks including mowing grass removing weeds clearing drainage ditches and pipes snow removal and painting. You will also assist in the construction and upkeep of trails footbridges and vehicle bridges utilizing your carpentry and concrete finishing skills. Additionally you will perform janitorial duties as required and operate various vehicles and equipment such as pickup trucks diesel and gaspowered tractors and utility vehicles ensuring safety at all times. Your responsibilities will include collecting water samples following prescribed techniques and managing water levels in the tank for the Centers use. You will help maintain the Centers buildings by completing minor carpentry and electrical repairs replacing light bulbs and conducting both interior and exterior painting. Daily tasks will involve collecting litter and trash by checking trash cans and parking lots emptying bins as necessary and transporting waste and recyclables for proper disposal or recycling. You will also be tasked with transporting crews equipment and supplies to various work sites while maintaining the grounds through mowing with push and riding mowers line trimmers and leaf blowers all while ensuring the equipment is used safely to prevent excessive wear. Additional duties include cleaning culverts and drains removing hazardous trees near trails and buildings while adhering to safety protocols and checking program schedules before operating power equipment around key areas such as the mansion and picnic spots. You will provide support during scheduled volunteer events by gathering and transporting necessary supplies and equipment communicate any safety and maintenance concerns to your supervisor promptly assist in the upkeep of water tanks water and sewer lines and wells and check mechanical systems in all buildings including heating and cooling systems fire and burglar alarms and generators reporting any issues to your lead worker or supervisor. Finally you will maintain accurate records by completing the required forms.
