Job Summary
Employees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (Assembly) provide professional nonpartisan services to support the democratic institution of Parliament and its members through procedural advice administrative support and information services. The Assembly is an autonomous employer separate from the administrative framework of B.C. government ministries and agencies.
The SergeantatArms department is seeking experienced motivated and professional individuals for up to five 5 auxiliary asandwhen Special Constables.
Reporting to a Sergeant the Special Provincial Constable (Constable) is responsible for carrying out approved plans and security measures to ensure the protection of Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) VIPs employees the public and property and the preservation of peace and order within the Legislative Precinct.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be/have:
Must have at least five years of policing experience within a Commonwealth jurisdiction within the last three years.
Experience interacting with people under difficult or stressful circumstances.
Must complete and provide a satisfactory criminal record check which must be renewed every five years.
