Job Description

GRIFFITH FOODS

Griffith Foods is a global manufacturer of food products. We provide a wide range of taste and texture components for food industry customers throughout the world. Our products include seasoning blends dry mixes coating systems dough blends crumbs flavors sauces and food bases that are used in an extensive variety of application from snack foods and processed meat and poultry to ready meals. Saturday and Sunday Day Shift.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Locates combines and cross check ingredients according to manufacturing formulae and production schedule.
  • Basic trouble shooting.
  • Uses ERP program for issuing material consumed.
  • Use controls and indicators and control panel to make the mix following manufacturing instructions.
  • Keeps work area sanitary and safe.
  • Follows Good Manufacturing Practices maintains extensive knowledge of raw materials.
  • Checks that all ingredients as required on formulae are present.
  • Repetitive heavy lifting required (tilting 45gallon drums). Hand scooping bending walking and standing the entire shift.
  • Communicates internally with other departments for the purpose of gathering materials discrepancies and maintaining inventories.
  • Communicates with previous and next shift to ascertain what is in production obtains production schedule from Team Leader.
  • Checks and obtains required materials from mixing and staging area using a low rider frequently.
  • Loads materials as per formula instructions into ribbon blender; checks that all weights are correct.
  • Completes the production and travel sheet ensures mixer # time packaging screen size is correct obtains sign off and delivers the product to the takeoff floor.
  • Makes up Quality Samples of every batch delivers to the Quality Department or arranges for collection as required.
  • Ensures blender is cleaned after each mix using the rubber paddle or allergen wash and ensuring that the physical lock is in place.
  • Ensures safety procedures are fulfilled throughout the daily processes and at the end of each shift and work area cleaned thoroughly.
  • Operate forklift as required.
  • Other duties may be required as assigned.

What Will You Bring

  • High school diploma Required.
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematical foundations Required.
  • Physical requirements: requires lifting of up to 25 kg on a regular basis.
  • ERP experience preferred.

This is a safety sensitive position and it requires the use of an N9 NIOSHapproved fitted respirator (N95 or an approved alternative. Successful candidates will be required to go through appropriate fittesting and will be required to wear an N95 while performing their duties.
