POSITION PROFILE:
Our client is currently seeking a Regional Transportation Director for Oregon and Southwest Washington. This role could be a significant highlight in your career journey. Real leadership opportunities especially those centered around transportation are hard to come by but our client is an exception. They are seeking a true business leader with an extensive background in civil transportation project delivery and experience in driving growth through proven business development practices. This position may be based out of their Portland OR or Vancouver WA office.
In this role you will collaborate closely with practice area and local business unit leaders to offer seniorlevel guidance and substantial support to regional staff. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer you will receive support in your role from other senior executives and regional directors throughout the company.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the Regional Transportation Director you will be a crucial member of the senior leadership team reporting directly to our clients Chief Executive Officer. In this role you will assume responsibility for the overall regional business performance business planning growth strategies transportation client development and the leadership of the public infrastructure business team at their Portland Vancouver Bend and Salem offices. To support your success you will have a dedicated team of experienced business unit leaders and project managers reporting to you. Your role will directly impact the companys overall performance as youll work closely with senior leaders in administration business development marketing finance and human resources. Collaborating with regional peers you will be responsible for setting goals defining objectives and ensuring the teams continuous development and smooth operation.
Specific expectations and responsibilities of the position include:
- Develop and implement strategies for the growth of the transportation business in Oregon Southwest Washington and adjoining markets.
- Create and share your vision for growing and maintaining their transportation client base and sustaining services to public agencies.
- Collaborate with the regional business development and marketing leadership to establish strategic plans client development strategy lead specific project pursuit and establish a competitive position.
- Manage operations by providing direction to and supervision of senior business unit leader staff in survey transportation structures and construction management.
- Work closely with your team to solidify and grow client relationships.
- Forecast business growth and sales.
- Support strengthening the technical capabilities of staff in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree required. Advanced degree in engineering planning or similar fields preferred.
- Minimum 15 years prior varied experience working with design and construction teams on public transportation and infrastructure projects.
- Professional Engineer registration in Oregon and Washington or ability to obtain these registrations within 6 months of hire is required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of public transportation and infrastructure in the Pacific Northwest with previous experience in a senior leadership role.
- Demonstrated leadership in a collaborative work environment.
- Customeroriented entrepreneurial mindset with a deep understanding of what it takes to deliver highquality work to maintain existing clients and inspire new clients to entrust us with project management and professional service needs.
- Demonstrated experience in the management of personnel budgets project management and quality delivery.
