Rockwell Collins Inc. d/b/a Collins Aerospace has an opening for a Senior Engineer Systems Engineering in Cedar Rapids IA.

What YOU will do

  • Execute objectives for requirements management reliability logistics coordination of different teams evaluation measurements and other disciplines for large or complex projects.
  • Monitor the cost effectiveness and reliability of activities and recommend modifications to optimize resources prioritize spending and ensure that standards are met.
  • Research and evaluate investments or changes in technology resources procedures equipment systems or other assets to improve the quality of the organizations systems products and services.
  • Provide analysis for the decomposition of customer specifications and system level requirements into subsystem and piece part requirements and develop verification criteria and plans for the requirements.
  • Perform analysis at all levels of the total system product including concept design fabrication modeling test installation operation maintenance and disposal.
  • Perform technical planning system integration verification and validation cost and risk and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
  • Consider and evaluate alternatives accounting for similar metrics.
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical schedule and cost constraints.
  • Perform architectural exploration.
  • Decompose customer specifications and system level requirements into subsystem and piece part requirements and generates verification criteria and plans for the requirements.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Must possess at least a bachelors degree or its equivalent in Avionics Engineering Systems Engineering Electrical Engineering Industrial Engineering or a related field and 5 years of progressive experience as a Systems Engineer or related role. Alternatively must possess at least a masters degree or its equivalent in Avionics Engineering Systems Engineering Electrical Engineering Industrial Engineering or a related field and 3 years of experience as a Systems Engineer or related role would be acceptable.
  • Must possess at least 3 years of experience with IMA and IPS System Level Developments.
  • Must possess at least 3 years of experience with avionics and aircraft subsystems.
  • Must possess at least 3 years of experience with agile methodologies.
  • Must possess at least 3 years of experience operating Avionics test facilities (rigs and simulations) executing scripted and unscripted flight test scenarios.
  • Must possess at least 3 years of experience with systems tools such as JIRA DOORS JAMA.

The salary range is $105539.00 to $163000.00 USD per year. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including but not limited to individual performance business unit performance and/or the companys performance.

This role is a U.S.based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
