Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Combination Employee is responsible for handling key operations in the dairy processing facility including bagging powdered skim milk packing butter and receiving milk from tankers at the milk bay. This role ensures efficient handling packaging and storage of dairy products while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Powdered Skim Milk Bagging:

  • Operate bagging equipment to fill and seal powdered skim milk bags accurately.
  • Ensure proper weight labeling and sealing of packaged products.
  • Monitor equipment for malfunctions and perform minor adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas according to food safety regulations.

Butter Packing:

  • Manually or mechanically pack butter into containers or bulk packaging.
  • Ensure proper labeling wrapping and storage of finished butter products.
  • Perform quality checks for consistency weight and appearance.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain efficiency and hygiene.

Milk Bay Operations (Receiving Milk from Tankers):

  • Inspect incoming milk tankers for compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Connect hoses and operate pumps to transfer raw milk from tankers to storage tanks.
  • Accurately record milk volumes and conduct basic quality tests (temperature smell visual inspection).
  • Maintain a clean and organized milk bay ensuring proper sanitation of equipment and work area.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience in dairy processing food manufacturing or a similar environment is a plus.
  • Ability to operate and maintain production equipment safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow food safety guidelines.
  • Exposure to cold storage wet environments and dairy ingredients.

  • The work environment may require working in the cooler room with varying degrees of temperature and may include contact with water or dairy liquids.
  • Exposed to a noise level of 90 decibels. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate/high. Wet/slippery work conditions.
