ORBITAL TUBE WELDER (FLUID SYSTEMS)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow established procedures to setup and operate the orbital welding system
- Work from blueprints and approved drawings
- Cut and prepare all tubing and fittings used in the welding operation
- Perform setup of the welding system
- Assemble and calibrate liquid controllers and systems as required
- Inspect all completed assemblies using the borescope inspection system
- Maintain an adequate supply of spare parts for the welding system
- Maintain a clean work area
- Maintain a file of all work records
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 1 year of welding machining or manufacturing experience OR certificate from an accredited trade skills program in A&P manufacturing welding and/or electronics
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Certification from a formal orbital weld training program
- 3 years of orbital welding experience
- Airframe and powerplant (A&P) license
- TIG welding and clean room experience
- Experience working in an aerospace manufacturing environment
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to work all shifts overtime and/or weekends as needed
- Must be able to work any of the following shifts:
- Monday to Friday: 4:00 AM 2:30 PM
- Monday to Friday: 3:00 PM 1:30 AM
- Thursday to Sunday: 3:00 AM 3:00 PM
- Thursday to Sunday: 3:00 PM 3:00 AM
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
- Able to stand for extended periods 8 hours min
- Able to stoop bend crawl and being able to maneuver in tight spaces
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Orbital Tube Welder/Level 1: $22.00 $27.00/hour
Orbital Tube Welder/Level 2: $25.00 $32.50/hour
Orbital Tube Welder/Level 3: $30.00 $38.00/hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a casebycase basis and may vary based on the following considerations: jobrelated knowledge and skills education and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
