Job Description
Within ourEnergy & Industrial Automation unit our vision is to enable safe and high performing products to enter the global markets by providing industry leading safety performance and expert services to our clients.
We are looking to appoint an Project Engineer (m/f/i) with experience. She/He will join our team based in NeuIsenburg/Germany or Arnhem/Netherlands and work on a hybrid bases 3 days onsite required).
Key Responsibilities:
Under general supervision he/she manages the and timely completion of certification projects by analyzing project scope and defining project specifications establishing test programs for product investigations and preparing reports for customers. Participates in the development of UL requirements test methods and test equipment. Exercises project responsibility as a Project Handler in which he/she is responsible from proposal preparation through to completion of assigned certification projects. If appropriately qualified may act as reviewer and is therefore responsible for the various reviews of certification projects.
Responsibilities
- Independently determines project scope develops a preliminary plan of investigation and determines project specifications such as cost time and sample requirements by analyzing client input available supplemental data and product construction.
- Projects may include frequent travel to conduct or witness tests at client sites.
- Initiates communication with clients to promote and explain the benefits of new and existing services.
- Follows up on contacts from clients.
- Communicates with clients to discuss technical issues explain UL procedures and requirements convey project cost and negotiate completion date and sample requirements.
- Acts to address client concerns and to resolve client issues.
- Provides technical assistance to clients in reference to product inspection and followup services.
- Establishes appropriate test programs by reviewing files and manufacturers information examining samples and applying UL requirements.
- Notifies client of any areas in which the product is not in compliance with UL requirements or of any changes in project scope or specifications.
- Coordinates laboratory activities by preparing data sheets and instructions to technicians scheduling and reviewing work of Laboratory Technicians and support staff and establishing completion dates.
- Coordinates administrative aspects of project management.
Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering Engineering Technology Industrial Technology Manufacturing Technology or Physics from an accredited program plus four years directly related work experience.
- Fluent language skills in German & English.
- Detailed knowledge of the technical vocabulary common to the appropriate discipline.
- Working knowledge of conformity standards in use in area of expertise.
- Demonstrated ability to apply projecthandling concepts in use in area of expertise.
