Job Description

We are seeking a handson leader to provide leadership and implement quality & EHSS systems and strategy for our innovative worldclass brewery based in Surrey B.C. The Manager Quality & EHSS will develop and implement local quality & EHSS programs to support our PSQCC (People Safety Quality Customer Service Cost) KPI agenda. You will be responsible for the quality and safety of our products (HACCP GMP GLP Housekeeping) and the safety of our team members and guests. Responsibilities include financial management of annual EHSS and laboratory budget laboratory operational performance reliability of analyses laboratory instrument maintenance and calibration plant safety and environmental compliance and reporting.

What You Will Do:

  • Create department vision and strategic direction which aligns to the plant and corporate vision and strategy for Quality & EHSS of Central City brewery.
  • Cascade monitor and measure strategically aligned objectives to the Quality & EHSS team.
  • Perform internal and external benchmarking analysis target setting and publishing of key performance indicators.
  • Ensure safety quality food safety GMP GLP HACCP environment & security requirements are implemented and verified for effectiveness in all areas of the brewery.
  • Represent brewery quality for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement manufacturing process improvement opportunities.
  • Validate inline and benchtop quality measurement instrumentation accuracy reproducibility and calibration frequency for all inline and benchtop instruments.
  • Ensure QA support is available when and where required to support customer service goals.
  • Proactively manage and report on safety and quality compliance for plant and employees.
  • Proactively monitor and report on product quality and regulatory compliance in Chemistry Microbiology Sensory.
  • Proactively manage nonconforming product holds and develop quality criteria for product rework.
  • Build a crossfunctional team to support daily requirements of the operation and provide training/oversight for teambased problem solving.
  • Mentor plant personnel on quality and safety while also providing direct and indirect reports with performance feedback and career coaching.
  • Evaluate talent and make personnel decisions that create an environment of inclusiveness mutual trust and understanding consistent with the Mark Anthony culture.
  • Actively lead the evolution of a robust Quality and Food Safety Culture by reinforcing the importance of Good Manufacturing Practices and protecting the quality food safety integrity and legality of MAB products and processes

What You Have:

  • Bachelors Degree in Chemistry Chemical Engineering Biology or related field.
  • 6 years of progressive quality/food safety experience in the brewing industry.
  • HACCP and/or PCQI Certifications.
  • 5 years in highspeed multisku beverage manufacturing and packaging.
  • Expert knowledge of brewing blending BRCGS GMP JSA and HACCP.
  • Extensive experience with laboratory instrumentation (GC GCMS HPLC Alcolyzer Autotitrator ICP PCR).
  • Knowledge of federal requirements for alcoholic beverages including tax policy and regulations.
  • Proven ability to develop motivate and empower employees fostering trust and teamwork.
  • Ability to manage quality requirements prioritize multiple projects and make quick decisions.
  • Proficient in risk management business systems and statistical process controls.
  • Effective leadership strategic influencing skills and resultsoriented mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across functions business units and geographies.
  • Proficient with personal computers and business applications.
