Position Summary
The Department of Communication at Villanova University seeks applicants for a oneyear visiting position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor to begin Fall 2024 and end Spring 2025. The position will require teaching undergraduate courses on a 44 teaching load. This position may be renewed for a second year. With one of the largest undergraduate majors in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences the Communication Department offers course work leading to the B.A. in Communication with opportunities to specialize in eight different areas of the discipline. In addition the Department supports a thriving M.A. program in Communication. Our faculty prides itself on excellence in teaching and research and seeks to cultivate a supportive collegial work environment. Candidates must have collegelevel teaching experience and demonstrated expertise teaching in the area of rhetoric and culture with additional ability to teach introductory level communication courses. Opportunities to teach courses in the candidates area of expertise may also be available. Those candidates who can speak to connections between rhetorical studies and interdisciplinary areas such as Africana Studies Deaf and Disability Studies Gender and Womens Studies and/or Latinx Studies are especially encouraged to apply.
