Job Description Summary
Student workers construct and install all theatrical scenic lighting and audio/visual elements for the Theatre Departments productions in the Mullen Center; often with minimal supervision from the technical director. Workers may also support department functions such as class and graduate thesis projects faculty workshops and visiting productions associated with Villanova Theatre and the Visual Art department. Students may also work on select building improvement and tool and hardware organization projects. Specific duties can include: loading and unloading building materials; operating a variety of stationary and handheld cutting tools (including but not limited to the table saw miter saw drill press band saw router circular saw palm and belt sander jig saw pneumatic staple and nail tools cordless drill and impact driver and a variety of smaller hand tools); working at height on ladders in a personal genie lift or on scaffolding; sweeping and cleaning; hanging cabling patching & troubleshooting and/or focusing theatrical lighting equipment; programming theatrical lighting and audio control boards; installing and troubleshooting Clearcom communication headsets; reading and interpreting construction shop drawings and/or written and verbal instructions from supervisors or other supervising student
