Job Description
Join BLTs team of dedicated professionals as aMaintenance Technician. This position performs various handson maintenance duties necessary to maintain and enhance the value of our luxury community located in Jersey City NJ.
Duties & Responsibilities of theMaintenance Technician:
- Assists in completing work in makeready apartments including but not limited to painting drywall repair cleaning carpets floors and windows general maintenance repairs and housekeeping
- Performs preventive maintenance and regular community inspections as requested by the Maintenance Manager
- Maintains grounds keeping common areas free of trash and debris
- Helps maintain all mechanical equipment including HVAC plumbing and electrical
- Recommends the repair or replacement of any interior and exterior areas
- Understands and complies with Fair Housing laws and standards
Requirements of the Position of Maintenance Technician:
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred trade and/or technical school training a plus
- Must have1 year ofHVAC experience
- Minimum 1 year of handson experience in painting cleaning plumbing carpentryor similar maintenance related field of work
- Fire Safety Manager Certification required or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Computer knowledge with the ability to generate work orders using a property management software system
- Must be able to lift and work with heavy equipment
- Valid drivers license auto insurance and clean driving record are required
- EPA CPO HVAC and CFC certifications are a plus
- Eveningand weekend work may be required
