Primary Purpose of Role:

The primary purpose of this role is to support Test Engineers in the setup and of developmental tests of prototype hardware in the Engineering Operations department.

• Support the design planning and of automotive powertrain tests
• Install/configure prototype test hardware
• Install and ensure calibration of instrumentation
• Configure data collection/logging software
• Participate in program planning and status update meetings
• Implement and support safety policies and initiatives

• Timely completion of work requests
• Maintaining an orderly and efficient workplace
• Producing high quality data

• Reflects on mistakes and seeks to proactively address them
• Practices active listening to understand stakeholder needs
• Learns and adapts quickly when facing new problems
• Solves problems with peers in a professional and constructive way

Vocational or Technical degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent experience

Required

• Proficient in oral and written business communication
• Typically 3 years in an Engineering Technician role (or equivalent)
• Strong mechanical proficiency
• Experience working in a laboratory environment
• Ability to use computer programming to modify test scripts
• Experience configuring instrumentation/data collection

Preferred:

• Experience in automotive powertrain testing environment
• Experience configuring automation hardware/software
• Ability to read and interpret engineering prints
