BUSINESS OFFICE SPECIALIST CLINIC ADMISSIONS JOB SUMMARY: Greets instructs directs and schedules patients and visitors. Interviews patient or patient representative to obtain information required to complete appointment and registration process and inputs data in computer system. Answers incoming phone calls takes messages and routes messages or calls to appropriate staff. Works closely with providers and nursing staff serving as a liaison between patient and medical support staff. As part of your job function you will need to access Patient Health Information for treatment hospital operations and payment purposes. This is both a full and part time opportunity. - Obtains necessary information from patient or patient representative for registration process and inputs data in the computer system.
- Schedules appointments gives information to callers and performs other administrative and clerical duties.
- Delivers messages mail medical records and other items.
- Obtains signed statement from patient to protect hospitals interests.
- Directs or escorts incoming patients from admitting office or reception desk to designated area.
- Assists patient in walking to prevent accidents by falling or transports nonambulatory patient with wheelchair and carries patients luggage.
- Scans cash receipts and EOBs.
- Delivers messages mail medical records and other items.
- Make change cashes checks and issues receipts to patients.
- Keeps office supplies stocked cleans work area and ordinary maintenance of office machines.
- Attends and participates in departmental meetings / inservices Brodstone Healthcare quality improvement program etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
