Job Description
The Engineering team in Kaiserslautern is committed to developing worldclass products in a fastpassed and dynamic environment. As a member of the Laser Engineering Team within the Product Development Engineering Group you will design test and qualify cuttingedge highpower ultrashort pulse lasers to be used in a 24/7 industrial environment. As a laser/optics expert you will apply all your knowledge and creativity to elaborate elegant and effective designs analyze and solve problems and collaborate with other engineering teams to build highperformance and highly reliable lasers.
Your responsibilities
- Development of highly innovative diodepumped solidstate lasers and derived products for an industrial environment
- Definition and simulation of laser optical designs
- Assembly characterization and validation of prototypes
- Problem solving and rootcause analysis
- Definition of build procedures matching the laser design
- Providing of detailed and technically thorough reports and presentations
- Close cooperation with other Engineering teams
- Worldwide collaboration with other Coherent Engineering groups
Your qualification
- Successfully completed masters/diploma/doctoral studies in the field of physics laser technology optics or related fields (doctorate preferred)
- Handson practical experience in the design of diodepumped solidstate lasers in a laboratory environment (academia or industry)
- Broad knowledge in electronics and mechanics is desirable
- Strong analytical skills
- Responsible resultoriented and accurate working method
