Primary Purpose
The COCC Geology department is blessed with a spectacular collection of rocks minerals and fossils. These objects could be of tremendous educational value not just to COCC Geology students but also to our larger community. For example K12 educators frequently contact our Geology department looking for educational resources like rocks / minerals / fossils. However the collection is poorly organized and therefore difficult to use. It can take hours just to find a handful of rocks for a useful rock kit. The end result is that most of rockin collection never sees the light of day. So we would like to employ a student to organize the rock/mineral/fossil collection and make it useful!
