Job Description

Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review draft and negotiate contracts with customers and suppliers confidentiality agreements and other complex commercial agreements.
  • Provide guidance on business and legal risks to internal teams as needed.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining appropriate policies and procedures to ensure the companys compliance with applicable laws and regulations including privacy and consumer protection compliance and assess potential risk where there might be alternatives.
  • Help build and improve form agreements and legal processes.
  • Act as a business partner to support the achievement of the organizations operational goals and strategies.
  • Work closely with other Legal Department colleagues on crossbusiness and crossborder transactions.

Education & Experience

  • 25 years of experience handling matters related to customer and supplier contracts. Inhouse experience or major law firm experience favorably considered.
  • Juris Doctorate and current Bar membership in good standing is required.

Skills

  • Superior written and oral communication skills along with excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to quickly establish a solid rapport and trust with the legal team and executives and develop strong working relationships with internal business partners.
  • Excellent strategic organizational and business process skills with the ability to follow through on numerous projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work well independently coupled with strong interpersonal skills resourcefulness and an ability to participate in a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Flexibility strong commitment to professionalism and collegiality.
  • Familiarity with Federal Procurement Regulations (FAR/DFARS/Etc) and contracting with the Federal Government and prime contractors is a plus.
  • Due to ITAR regulations U.S. citizenship or Permanent Resident Alien Status required.

Working Conditions

  • Flexible onsite and hybrid work schedule expected in office 3 days per week.
  • Located within commuting distance to East Granby CT favorably considered.

Physical Requirements

  • May require travel up to 10 of time.
