Job Description
If you love to swim enjoy working with children and want to make a difference in someones life by teaching a lifesaving skill then this is the opportunity for you! We are looking for Swim Instructors to join our fantastic team for the Summer. No experience is necessary we will train you!
Please note seasonal shifts are weeklong sessions so you must be able to commit to the same shift every day for the week that you sign up for. Camp Lessons are held MondayFriday whereas Public Lessons are held MondayThursday and Saturdays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ability to teach proper swimming technique in a safe positive and appropriate manner to various levels and age groups in accordance with the companys instructional guidelines (We will train you!
- Observes students during class to teach and correct mistakes demonstrating skills as needed
- Engage participants in a fun class dynamic
- Responsible for setup and cleanup of lesson area
- Ability to track and maintain evaluation cards for students
- Excellent communication skills with children and adults
- Attend staff and training meetings as required
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must complete training requirements prior to your first shift and/or no later than June 15th. (Training starts in May if youre available)
- Must be able to commit to at least 4 weeks of summer programming
- Must be able to commit to every day within the shift option you sign up for.
- Comfortable in an outdoor pool for 3 hours
- Must be punctual responsible and maintain a positive attitude
- Compassionate enthusiastic and enjoys working as a team
- Must be an effective communicator with students and parents as appropriate
- Experience working with children and creating a positive environment for their development is a plus
- Competitive swim experience or experience in an aquatics program environment is a plus
- Must be a minimum of 15 years of age
