Job Description
Position Overview
Position Summary:
The College of Education and Technology at Eastern New Mexico University seeks candidates for a fulltime position as an Assistant/Associate Professor of Counseling to teach 12 credit hours (Fall/Spring; summer optional) of graduate courses in Counseling. This is a residential appointment and campus presence is requiredRequirements
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teaching graduate courses in counseling (professional orientation advanced psych for counselors practicums/internships school counseling group counseling and others)
- Advise students effectively
- Engage in scholarly activities
- Provide service to the profession and University communities
- Ph.D. or Ed.D. required in Counselor Education or related field (ABD will be considered) and a minimum of three years of experience as a clinical counselor or equivalent education
- Hold an independent license in counseling and be eligible for professional practice in New Mexico or be able to obtain a NM license
- Distance education learning platforms clinical counseling supervision of practicums and internships teaching skills advising students and student organizations
- Candidates must have the ability to work well in a collegial setting and willingness to teach using traditional and distance education (online and other) technologies
Working Conditions
Physical Demand and Working Conditions:
- Work is sedentary in nature that at times requires exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects.
