Title: Testing Technician II (Temporary PartTime)
Department: Testing Center
Campuses: Work on different site campuses (Hardin Valley Strawberry Plains Division Street Blount County)

Pay Rate: $16.00/Hr
Work Hours: Temporary Contract. Up to 632 hours per week as needed and be on call or fillin as needed (Work some Saturdays from 8 a.m. 1 p.m.
Position Summary: The overall purpose of this job is: The Testing Center is responsible for the testing activities of PSCC. These primarily include administration proctoring and proper security of testing materials. We also administer basic skills assessment tests class testing for teachers including on line courses testing for off campus agencies other colleges and universities and the administration of DSST and CLEP exams.
Typical Duties & Responsibilities:
85 Test Administration
1. Operates Testing Centers with or without Testing Technician I (checks in students pulls student tests finds passwords handles student/instructor concerns seats examinees helps examinees logon to computers starts timing instruments as needed collects completed tests and testing materials watches examinees to ensure administration conditions are met in the Testing Centers etc..
2. Successfully complete requirement necessary to achieve certification to administer a number of standardized exams such as CLEP DSST PearsonVue and HISET.
3. Explains individual testing requirements to studentsprocedures and resolves any misunderstandings using appropriate customer service and management techniques.
4. Collaborate with faculty regarding test revisions availability of tests and guidelines and testing options for various tests.
5. Prepare an Incident Report to document irregularities testing discrepancies or dishonesty and forward report and copies of pertinent materials to faculty and Test Supervisor.
6. Maintains an optimal testing environment that adheres to college standardized and National College Testing Association (NCTA) standards.
7. Collaborates with Supervisor Test Administrators and other testing staff regarding improving/changing testing operations staffing and updating of Testing Center policies and procedures.
8. Provides information clarification and advice to testing staff regarding test delivery policies procedures test retrieval and use of specialized computer testing software.
9. Interprets often complicated procedures for administration of proctored tests from other colleges/universities and standardized testing companies; and comprehends delivery methods for several categories of tests including classroom makeup Internet CBT essays preGED and other remote/proctored exams delivered paper/pencil or computerbased format.
10. Helps maintain security and accountability of tests before during and after testing in compliance with established guidelines.

11. Performs office related duties as required including answering phones and making test appointments preparing deposits for testing funds creating flyers for test schedules and policies answering test questions scanning tests or answer sheets making copies filing and faxing/mailing tests/reports.

12. Performs other duties as needed.

Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of one year fulltime work experience administering standardized paper/pencil and computer based testing
Experience with the use of computer equipment and knowledge of office related skills.
Certification training and exams must be completed prior to administering tests that requires such certification (HISET CLEP etc..
(Parttime work experience is calculated at 50 credit of fulltime work experience)
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Must have excellent problem solving and organizational skills. Must have excellent decision making skills. Excellent customer service and computer related skills are required to be fully qualified for this position. A second language is not needed or required.
