JOB TITLE: Addiction Psychiatrist

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Fulltime; 40 hours/week

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: Adult Outpatient

The Adult Outpatient services providepsychiatric & substance abuse diagnostic evaluation and treatment. Services include assessment consultation individual couples group family treatmentand medication evaluation and monitoring.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clinical Management and Services

  • Provides direct clinical services to clients including psychiatric evaluations medication evaluation and management diagnostic assessments ongoing treatment and medication reviews substance use disorder assessment and treatment
  • Provides evidencebased MedicationAssisted Treatment for Opioid and Alcohol Use Disorders and ongoing treatment that may include Induction Stabilization and Maintenance care.
  • Works with program supervisors to oversee client treatment plans.
  • Performs risk assessments for assigned caseload to any client who presents in crisis as needed and complete PEC when indicated.
  • Provides mentorship and training for staff seeking competency in MAT or and for staff treating complex individuals.
  • Makes comprehensive integrated care assessments of client and develops focus of treatment.
  • Makes clinically appropriate focused goaloriented treatment plans and reviews as required by agency guidelines.
  • Assesses level of care needs/changes and follows up with and/or makes referrals to appropriate type of treatment and length of treatment.
  • Demonstrates competency in agerelated or specialty issues and developmental needs for each population served.

Indirect/Administrative Services/Tasks

  • Makes collateral contacts with clients natural support network; with other team members inhouse; with other professionals/providers/agencies and inpatient treatment settings.
  • Collaborates with the team to arrange for admission to other levels of care or referrals to other services.
  • Completes all client record keeping conforming with agency policy and procedures (form content timeliness).
  • Completes all necessary information to support transactions with insurance and managed care companies (written and telephone) comprehensively and in a timely manner.
  • Completes any other required administrative record keeping or tasks relevant to the functioning of the agency/department/staff role per policy and procedures or as assigned by supervisor or Program Director.
  • As plan manager coordinates clients treatment with other providers in and outside the agency and completes all referrals as needed.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical leadership role; staff supervision when assigned
  • Provide clinical supervision and consultation to case management teams as assigned.
  • Maintains documentation in compliance with agency and program standards.
  • Participates in administrative clinical and programmatic staff meetings supervision trainings and other meetings as assigned.
  • Participation in agency/departmental committees as required.
  • Takes responsibility for own professional growth and development within and outside of the agency. Participates in individual/group supervision case conferences and any other training provided internally that is relevant to ones role and work focus.
  • Additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: M.D. Boardcertified or eligible in adult psychiatry and addiction psychiatry.

Experience: 5 years experience in adult psychiatry. Community mental health experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: CT license; Board Certified preferred eligible required.

COMPENSATION*:

$212152.00/minimum and up commensurate upon experience

*Actual rates are determined at the time of offer and are based on relevant experience and internal equity as well as adherence to our internal equity policy. Many of our positions offer program/location differentials and/or signon incentives. (Please note for parttime positions this range would be prorated based on hours worked)
