Job Summary: As the Roving Patrol Specialist you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the companys assets ensuring a safe and secure work environment for our people property and products. Your primary responsibility will be to prevent financial loss theft and fraud throughout the companys manufacturing facilities and vehicle holding yards while maintaining a strong focus on customer service. You will use a variety of tools to minimize loss to the company supporting programs that deter theft and loss. This position demands detail oriented strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You will interact with law enforcement supporting their investigation.
Essential Functions:
Drive a theft prevention culture by conducting regular surveillance performing security audits of facilities and investigating suspicious activities.
Deter crime by being visible and spotting incidents as or even before they happen.
Conduct asset protection activities and audits in accordance with established policies procedures and guidelines.
Identify potential security vulnerabilities and recommend improvements to minimize risks to assets personnel and the company.
Gather intelligence and communicate important issues to prevent theft.
Remotely monitors security camera systems.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of securityrelated incidents investigations and security assessments ensuring all reports are submitted in a timely manner.
Assist in inventory management by conducting regular audits and reporting discrepancies to management.
Respond to security incidents emergencies and accidents promptly following established procedures and collaborating with law enforcement when necessary.
Maintains relationships with site security and law enforcement to address security concerns and implement preventative measures.
Communicate and cooperate with site security and law enforcement to facilitate a close working relationship.
Work alongside law enforcement to support their criminal investigations to solve major theft incidents.
Communicates and implements asset protection programs initiatives and strategies.
Developing and implementing security policies and protocols to enhance asset protection.
Supervise patrol vehicle fleet and equipment maintenance: perform routine maintenance checks and cleans departmental vehicles; checks vehicles in and out of parking lot; records key use; schedules and records all service completed; ensures vehicles and equipment are ready for assignment.
Minimum Hiring Standards:
Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
Must have a reliable means of communication (i.e. pager or phone).
Must have a reliable means of transportation (public or private).
Must be willing to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays if required.
Written and verbal proficiency in the English language.
Education/Experience and Licensing Requirements:
Minimum two years of law enforcement military service or practical experience in loss prevention required.
Must possess and maintain a stateissued Drivers License.
Must possess and maintain any staterequired private security licensing. If not currently possessed must be able to obtain upon hire of employment.
Competencies (as demonstrated through experience training and/or testing):
Knowledge of security systems CCTV operation and theft prevention strategies.
Basic knowledge of criminal law and legal procedures.
Knowledge of local laws and regulations related to asset protection (may vary by location).
Proficient computer skills including all Microsoft Office Professional applications including SharePoint and Google GSuite.
Strong observational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle difficult situations with professionalism.
Ability to prioritize solve problems and carry out responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Experience teaching mentoring and coaching internal and external personnel.
Strong interpersonal communication writing and presentation skills.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice or related field from an accredited institution preferred.
ASIS Essentials of Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED) Certificate.
ASIS Essentials of Security Risk Assessment Certificate.
Associate Protection Professional (APP) certification.
Experience working in an automotive manufacturing environment.
