Job Description
SA Recycling a world leader in the metals recycling and processing industry is actively looking for individuals to join our team as a Laborer. As a Laborer your main responsibilities will be the sorting and processing of materials purchased from our suppliers by type and grading. You will also process disassemble and separate various materials; yard clean up and maintenance; and other general physical labor duties to ensure the highest quality of s material is processed and shipped to our customers in a safe effective manner.
This position will work outside in varying weather conditions and SA Recycling strictly adheres to all Metals Recycling Business Health Safety and Environmental standards.

Responsibilities of a Laborer
- Provide a safe environment for all employees suppliers and visitors.
- Assist the weighmaster and inspector by providing a positive supplier experience by answering questions; aiding in the unloading and sorting of materials; educating suppliers on acceptable materials; and thanking them for their business.
- Accurate sorting of ferrous and nonferrous materials into the proper containers and perform additional processing prior to shipping to our customers.
- Depollute vehicles by removing all fluids batteries catalytic converters etc. following environmental and company guidelines.
- Perform daily inspections on equipment reporting any defects or needed repairs to supervisor.
- Provide backup or assistance throughout the yard as needed or assigned.
- Comply with all applicable federal state local & SA Recycling safety health & environmental rules regulations policies & procedures.
Qualifications of a Laborer
- High School diploma GED Certification or equivalent work experience.
- 12 years experience in identifying and sorting ferrous and nonferrous metals.
- Basic understanding in operating both stationery and mobile equipment.
- Forklift experience required.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) a plus.
- Ability to carry out instructions provided in written oral or diagrammatic form.
- Ability to learn new tasks as assigned required.
