Title: Lecturer (Communication)

Salary Information: Commensurate with qualifications and experience. Minimum $1911 /credit hour

Temporary/Permanent: Temporary

Other Conditions: Lecturer applicant pool for future semesters. Positions are parttime temporary nontenure and are contingent upon sufficient student enrollment position clearance and availability of funding. Must be available to teach courses during the day evening weekend and/or via distance learning as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Teaching basic communication courses such as COM 100 Human Communication in Diverse Society and COM 251 Public Speaking as well as additional courses serving program needs
  2. Maintain a minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught

Minimum Qualifications

  1. M.A in Communication Speech communication human communication or Mass communicationfrom an accredited university
  2. Experience in teaching basic communication and public speaking courses at the university level

Desirable Qualifications

  1. Demonstrated aptitude for course instruction at the university level
  2. Demonstrated ability to teach diverse student populations in a multicultural setting
  3. Proven track record of effective course instruction in communication courses at the University level
  4. Commitment and potential to contribute to diversity equity and inclusion
  5. Demonstrated interestin Asian and/or the Pacific cultures
