Summary
The Senior Project Engineer is a key role responsible for planning designing and overseeing geotechnical engineering projects. The role will work on site investigations analyze soil and rock properties and provide recommendations of construction projects based on their findings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Conducting geotechnical site investigations including soil and rock sampling borehole logging and field testing and present their findings to interdisciplinary teams
    • Evaluating and analyzing geological and geotechnical conditions to assess risks and opportunities for construction projects
    • Managing geotechnical aspects of projects such as project timelines and milestones including budgeting scheduling and resource allocation
    • Coordinating with clients contractors and regulatory agencies to ensure project requirements objectives and constraints are met
    • Communicating project status risks and recommendations to stakeholders effectively
    • Conducting feasibility studies risk assessments and implement quality assurance processes to identify potential challenges develop mitigation strategies and ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations
    • Coordinating with subcontractors vendors and suppliers to procure materials and services
    • Preparing technical reports and documentation detailing analysis findings and recommendations
    • Fostering positive relationships with clients and stakeholders to enhance satisfaction and promote future collaborations
    • Ensuring compliance with health safety and environmental regulations and standards
    • Staying updated on industry trends technologies and innovations to enhance project delivery and efficiency
    • Coordinating and cooperate with lab and field departments
    • Preparing cost estimates proposals and invoices
    • Performing any other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

    • Previous experience working on a minimum of two embankment dam construction projects within the last 10 15 years.
    • Professional Engineer (P.E. license
    • Valid Florida Drivers License with acceptable driving record (in accordance with our Drivers License and Motor Vehicle Record Check Criteria)
    • Ability to pass a background check screening in accordance with Floridas Jessica Lunsford Act (or equivalent state classification).
    • Ability to read & write including interpreting documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals as well as the ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively with colleagues supervisors and customers/clients.
    • Computer skills sufficient to operate a laptop including sending and receiving emails and the ability to learn Field Data Collection (FDC)/Inspector Gadget to input data and prepare reports.
    • Mathematical skills sufficient to add subtract multiply divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
    • Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral and diagram form.

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Geotechnical Engineering or related field
    • Strong knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles soil mechanics and foundation design
    • Experience with geotechnical fieldwork including soil testing drilling and instrumentation
    • Excellent project management communication and problem solving skills.
    • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
    • Familiarity with local state and federal regulations as well as industry standards and best practices

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

    • Required to drive stand walk use hands to type handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance talk and hear. Body motions and movements include: bending twisting reaching stooping pulling kneeling lifting carrying and pushing.
    • Lifting and/or moving up to ten pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to twentyfive pounds.
    • This job is in Florida with exposure to intense sun intense heat humidity rain thunderstorms and other adverse weather conditions.
    • Job site conditions may or may not be accessible by vehicle and can include wetlands swamps grasslands and fields with uneven surfaces sand brush and other natural and manmade obstacles.
    • This job is primarily and regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and construction sites where the noise level is usually moderate to loud.
