About the role
As part of our Transmission Lines Maintenance team you will work under the leadership and direction of your Team Leader or Supervisor to carry out the duties associated with the construction commissioning operation and maintenance of overhead transmission systems.
Day to day you will be involved in:
Maintaining and constructing Overhead Transmission assets
Project work Including conductor replacement and removals insulator and hardware replacement tower and pole repairs and upgrades new line builds stringing new lines new pole and tower installation etc.
You will be trained in and conduct live line and bare hand works
The majority of our projects are based in SA across metro and regional areas. You will be required to work away from home on certain projects with time away ranging from just a night or 2 up to 11 days on larger regional jobs (although there are only a handful of these jobs each year so you will maintain a good work/life balance). Generous travel allowances and double time overtime rates apply.
About you
You will bring a strong commitment to working safely and the ability to learn new skills and adapt to changes in standards systems and technologies. You are a team player who encourages others to collaborate and find solutions rather than problems.
Requirements include:
Cert III in Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) Transmission Overhead is preferred
We will also consider applications with Cert III in ESI Distribution who are willing to work towards their Transmission certification
A minimum 18mths posttrade qualification experience
SA Electrical License (or ability to get one)
Current SA drivers licence car and/or heavy vehicle
Experience working safely using Live Line techniques and methods would be great but is not essential (however you must be willing to work towards Live Stick and Barehand qualifications)
High Voltage Switching experience would be beneficial but is not essential
