Position Information:
Job Title: Supervisor Dispatch & ECC
LOCATION: Vestal NY
Salary Range: $114300 $142900
Work Type: On Site Office
JOB SUMMARY:
Directs and supervises employees responsible for training of Transmission and Distribution Operators of the Companys Electric Control Center and Gas Emergency Control Center which may include the dispatch of field operations crews in response to customer trouble and emergency calls.
MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developing overall electric ECC training strategy including both transmission and distribution training:
- Ensure all ECC training compliance requirements are met per regulatory requirements.
- Oversight of all Initial Operator Training Programs for new hire Qualification
- Oversight of Continuing Education Programs for ongoing professional development of Qualified personnel
- Support Centralized Operations project specifically training of new Distribution Operators.
- Planning and of all ECC training activities.
- Line management responsibility for ECC technical trainers.
- Management of ECC training contractors.
- Support local ECC teams on technical/compliancerelated issues provide technical guidance and expertise to employees engaged in the operation of the electric system
- Provide direction and assistance to operations staff during electric system emergencies.
- Coordinate with operations management to Identify and implement opportunities to improve operational processes and procedures.
- Represent the company on interdepartmental/regulatory committees and perform other duties as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience Required:
Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience preferred; OR
Associates Degree with a minimum of 7 years relevant experience required.
Knowledge of the characteristics and operation of both gas and electric systems.
Knowledge of customer service procedures is desirable.
Certifications:
NERC Certification as appropriate.
Skills/Abilities:
Results oriented and proactive.
Strong analytical leadership interpersonal and communication skills.
Able to make operational decisions under pressure.
Able to take on special projects.
Demonstrated administrative and decisionmaking abilities.
