Job Description
What youll do:
- Build inspire and grow a high performance team of data scientists that are thought partners to the team that builds machine learning models that powers Pinterests ads stack.
- Strong ML knowledge with a deep understanding of how models drive business.
- Work with product and engineering partners help identify and answer important why and how questions. Lead the team to structure ambiguous technical challenges into actionable plans. Ensure that your team is producing consistently trustworthy and highquality technical outputs that influence the business. Drive datadriven decisionmaking aligned with the organizations strategic objectives.
- Communicate complex findings and insights to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Be a champion for building highly talented and diverse teams with an inclusive culture.
What were looking for:
- Bachelors/Masters degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Experience in managing small teams of highly technical scientists fostering a culture of innovation collaboration and continuous improvement
- Hands on experience as a data scientist research scientist applied scientist or machine learning engineer in a technology company
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with hypothesis driven product development
- Experience being a thought partner to improve decision quality and able to influence with expertise
- Industrial experience with ads product and metrics.
What skills are ideal but not required
- Experience in building production ML systems

InOffice Requirement Statement:
- We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means were not always working in an office but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
- This role will need to be in the office for inperson collaboration 1 time per week and therefore needs to be in a commutable distance from one of the following offices. Seattle San Francisco or Palo Alto
