Job Summary/Description:
WCTV is the dominant #1 CBS affiliate in the TallahasseeThomasville DMA considered a breaking weather market. The weekend morning meteorlogist leads our weather coverage in PM newscasts and is responsible for both digital and onair weather responsibilities. They also report several times during the week if they are not filling in on another newscast.
Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Forecast weather for weekend morning newscasts and other weekday newscasts as assigned
Update staff on emergency weather conditions in newsroom editorial meetings
& edit daily content for newscasts and website
Operate portable live units and conduct live shots from the field
Utilize our CTV Digital Desk for daily weather updates and also during times of severe and tropical weather.
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Meteorology or Atmospheric Science
Minimum of 12 years of Broadcast Meteorology experience
