NDDOT Hiring Salary:
Transportation Engineer II: $5999 / month
Transportation Engineer I: $5403 / month*
Summary of Work
At the North Dakota Department of Transportation we owe our success to our people and processes. As a Transportation Engineer in our Minot District you will manage small and medium construction projects and be the main inspector on large projects. The ideal person for this position will be a problem solver with excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Previous experience in preparing environmental documents and construction plans is a plus.
Primary duties associated with this position are:
You will manage construction projects monitor contractor operations and assure project is built according to the plans and specs. You will also be responsible for designing projects and preparing plan documents for district designed projects.
Other duties include large project inspection filling in for project engineer in their absence bridge inspections preliminary surveys bridge deck evaluations construction survey and materials testing as well as other miscellaneous job duties.
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered as a Transportation Engineer II you must have a bachelors degree in engineering and two years of professionallevel engineering work experience. In addition you must have passed or have the ability to pass the Fundamentals of Engineering exam as specified by the Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors within six months of employment.
To be considered as a Transportation Engineer I you must have a bachelors degree in engineering
This position requires a class D drivers license for travel to visit bridges to scope projects.
Employment of the selected candidate will be contingent on satisfactorily completing the interview process and reference check.
