Position Summary The AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) Assistant is responsible for providing direct assistance in a variety of areas including outreach and administrative support related to the overall efficient programmatic operations of the federal and state funded Program Foster Grandparent Program. Reports to: Foster Grandparent Program Manager Qualifications Knowledge Skills & Abilities - Any combination of education training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Position requires a highly organized person with strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work well with people of varying economic and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to work well with older adult population required.
- Position requires computer (Microsoft Office) proficiencies creative problem solving and effective time management skills.
- Knowledge of confidentiality preferred.
- Successful completion of initial and ongoing employment screens including but not limited to criminal background sex offender drug screen OIG valid Michigan drivers license abuse and neglect and vehicle record check as required and reliable transportation.
Services: - Assist FGP Program Manager to assure program compliance with funding and programming requirements of AmeriCorps Seniors Michigans Health and Aging Services Administration and other funding sources.
- Assist in the development and implementationof new volunteer outreach and recruitment.
- Assist with the collection and processing of program data.
Work Environment Physical Demands & Travel: This job operates in a professional office environment and includes approximately 20 travel within Oakland County. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This position would require the ability to lift files open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
