Job Overview:

As our Software Development Manager for the Fulfillment Optimization you will lead and manage both engineering and data science teams to empower Coupang Fulfillment & Transportation to operate faster better and cheaper through modern reliable and datadriven technologies. In this role you will be a key leader in an area of the business that is rapidly expanding and is recognized for its Rocket Delivery service. Fulfillment Optimization team optimizes the realtime distribution of customer orders to FCs nationwide and supports the most efficient order fulfillment process. The F2P team already builds services that process thousands of requests per second generate trillions of won annually in business decisions and manage business rules that move millions of products. We are responsible for improving order coordination with technology to deliver products to millions of online shoppers.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage engineering and data science teams on our most demanding crossfunctional projects involving fulfillment optimization.

Ensure the quality of architecture and design of systems.

Functionally decompose complex problems into simple straightforward solutions.

Possess expert knowledge in performance scalability enterprise system architecture and engineering best practices.

Assist in the career development of team members actively mentoring individuals and the community on advanced technical issues

Exert technical influence over multiple teams increasing their productivity and effectiveness by sharing your deep knowledge and experience.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree and/or Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

3 years of experience managing Engineering and Datascience teams involved in building largescale projects

7 years of software engineering experience including Java.

7 years of knowledge of emerging platforms Java C/C Python Datascience/Machinelearningoperating system principles and programming best practices.

Strong understanding of backend scalable software architecture distributed systems and messageoriented architecture.

Experience with fullstack highscale production systems with faulttolerance and monitoring.

Experience with building streamprocessing systems using solutions such as Kafka and SparkStreaming.

Data caching and storage techniques and creating distributed software architectures with horizontal scale.

Operationalizing software in a largescale environment with high availability requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in creating simulation systems that would simulate outputs coming from operation research optimization algorithms for data especially for an ecommerce setup.

Experience in the eCommerce domain involved in supply chain optimization.

Experience with AWS;

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor Master or PhD degree in Computer Science Electronic Engineering Industrial Engineering or related discipline with 10 years of experience with large scale backend distributed systems.

Pay & Benefits

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. At Coupang your base pay is one part of your total compensation.

The base pay for this position ranges from $171000/year in our lowest geographic market to $351000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience.
