Responsibilities
We are looking for an exceptional Search/Information Retrieval Engineer to join our growing team. In this role you will be involved in the design development and optimization of search solutions that deliver exceptional user experiences. The ideal candidate will combine strong software engineering skills with deep knowledge of information retrieval systems.
In this role you will also be responsible to:
Build nextgeneration search architectures that maximize precision and recall.
Design innovative relevance signals that capture subtle user preferences.
Design indexing strategies that handle massive document collections efficiently.
Create smart query understanding systems that decode complex user intent.
Craft ranking models that learn from rich interaction data.
Build robust testing frameworks to measure and improve search quality.
Design clean maintainable code that powers missioncritical search systems.
Mentor teammates on search architecture and best practices.
Requirements
Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science Information Science or related field
5 years of experience developing search solutions
Strong proficiency in Python
Handson experience with search engines (Elasticsearch Solr or similar)
Strong understanding of information retrieval concepts (TFIDF BM25 vector search)
Expertise in SQL databases and experience with NoSQL solutions
Experience with text processing NLP and relevance tuning
Knowledge of modern neural search techniques and vector embeddings
Familiarity with relevance evaluation metrics (NDCG MRR MAP)
Experience with largescale distributed systems
Strong analytical and problemsolving skills

Strong communication abilities to explain technical concepts.
