Position Summary:

The Service Technician Apprentice is an entrylevel position that works alongside an assigned Mentor Lead Technician and/or Service Manager to learn to perform quality vehicle service Express Lube maintenance and repairs.

Salary: $600 $800 per week

Essential Functions:

  • Assists assigned technicians as needed.
  • Delivers customer cars to service stalls as requested by technicians.
  • Picks up parts from the parts department as directed by technicians.
  • Performs safety inspections oil changes lubrication work basic maintenance and minor repairs as directed.
  • Replenishes supplies as requested by mentor technician and/or service manager.
  • Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Attends manufacturer instructor training classes
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions to stay informedwithrapidly changing technology.
  • Assists in the Lot and other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record
  • Pass a preemployment drug screening and criminal background screening.
  • Regular attendance and punctual
  • Wears a proper Garavel uniform

Physical Demands:While performing the duties of aService Technician Apprentice the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop kneel crouch or crawl.

  • Ability to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to frequently move in and out of vehicles frequently
  • Required to test drive all vehicles

Work Conditions:

  • Allweather toughness exposure to inclement weather
  • Are often exposed to hazardous situations conditions and equipment that result in cuts bruises or minor burns.
  • Work inside enclosed vehicles such as trucks cars and SUVs. Often work in cramped workspaces underneath vehicles that require getting into awkward positions.
  • Regularly wear protective gear such as goggles or earplugs.
  • Are exposed to contaminants such as antifreeze and chemical degreasers on a daily basis.
  • Are exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting and uncomfortable on a daily basis.
  • May sometimes work in cold or hot temperatures
