Job Description
Southern Comforts is 21 years old and started as a furniture and home decor consignment business. Over the years we have listened to our customers and now have new inventory mixed in. We currently have one store in Roswell GA and with a new owner since February we are expanding with Sandy Springs GA looking to be our next location. We recently added in our store the very successful Sooni & Tommi luxury cosmetics and a gift section. In our future bigger stores we will also have clothing fashion accessories and a cafe giving our customers and consignors a fabulous shopping experience.
SALES ASSOCIATES
Part time or full time. Knowledge of furniture and retail experience is preferable. Must be able to lift smaller pieces of furniture willing to do other tasks as part of a team be able to be on their feet for at least 6 hours keep the store clean and tidy and willing to work weekends and public holidays. Computer knowledge is preferable as we are moving more and more to paperless and familiarity with google docs/sheets is a plus. We are looking for people who are ultra friendly love people and love variety. Successful candidates will start as Sales Associate in Training for the first 3 months.
WAREHOUSE/SALES
Part time or full time. Must be willing to lift heavy furniture help our customers and consignors with taking out and bringing in items use a step ladder to hang and take down art/chandeliers willing to work weekends and public holidays load/unload truck vacuuming/dusting and keeping store clean and tidy. assist customers. Willing to cross train as sales associate is preferable. Must be friendly love people and variety. Successful candidates will be Warehouse in Training for the first 3 months.
STORE MANAGER
We are looking for someone who is reliable and can work 5 days a week with one weekend day each week a must willing to work public holidays and fill in absences preferably has experience in management or supervisory role and familiar with furniture. Must be able to be on their feet for at least 6 hours and lift small pieces of furniture. There are many pieces to working in our stores which the manager must experience and continue to do along side their team. As well as open and closing procedures; Consignment: approving what we take be able to say no thank you to items we do not take without upsetting the consignor know how to research prices be confident pricing items input inventory placing items sold/pickup item procedures know our POS system know how consignment works. You must have basic knowledge of computers and google sheets/docs. We are not looking for someone who will just delegate must be hands on. The nature of this business means quite often you will be pulled in many directions so you will have to be able to solve problems quickly multi task be able to deal with difficult customers/associates be flexible/open minded and take on challenges able to take changes in your stride and make sure your team carry out these changes as well as successfully lead them toward achievement of plans and goals make sure your team are making sales their priority while maintaining a happy and friendly atmosphere all with a smile on your face and remaining calm. Successful candidate will start as Manager in Training for the first 3 months.
