Job Description

Project Engineer III Based in Ohio Remote

DISHER is currently partnering with a civil and environmental engineering firm to find a Project Engineer III. They specialize in wastewater drinking water and stormwater projects providing services ranging from master planning and design to construction administration and asset management plans. This company is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer specializing in water treatment processes to join our team. This role is ideal for an engineer passionate about advancing technical expertise and innovation in water treatment rather than pursuing a project management career path. The candidate will play a crucial role in the continued development of our drinking water team and in designing and optimizing water treatment systems ensuring regulatory compliance and enhancing sustainability. This position is available for any of our office locations in Indiana and Ohio; preference Columbus Ohio; a fully remote position may be considered.

What you will get to do:

    • Develop evaluate and design water treatment systems including conceptual planning detailed engineering and process optimization.
    • Conduct hydraulic and process modeling to ensure the efficiency and reliability of treatment systems.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate treatment systems with broader infrastructure projects.
    • Provide technical expertise and guidance during the construction and commissioning of water treatment facilities.
    • Analyze system performance troubleshoot issues and propose solutions for operational improvements.
    • Stay updated on emerging technologies and advancements in water treatment processes.
    • Prepare technical reports specifications and proposals.
    • Participate in site visits to evaluate facilities and processes meet with operations staff and collect system information useful for evaluation and design.
    • Ensure compliance with local state and federal regulations.

What will make you successful:

    • A minimum of 4 years of experience in water treatment engineering and design.
    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution; Masters degree in Environmental Engineering or related specialty is a plus.
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or the ability to obtain within 12 months.
    • Teamoriented with good communication and organizational skills.
    • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with a focus on technical innovation.
    • Ability to successfully complete tasks independently with guidance from managers.
    • Proficiency in industrystandard computer software for engineering analysis and design (e.g. AutoCAD Water CAD etc..
