Job Description

Environmental Health & Safety Manager

Position Summary

The Environmental Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for companywide safety measures and protocols. They will come to the role with solid experience in this industry or another translatable industry and will be comfortable reviewing developing initiating and maintaining regulations and industry standards via documentation and handson training programs. This role will abide by all government rules and regulations to ensure workers health and safety while handling and working with various materials and processes. This person should be able to identify potential hazards monitor programs and comply with inspections and analysis. This person will also review edit and/or develop and maintain SOPs that will ensure companywide compliance and safety protocol.

Job Description

  • Develop maintain and direct EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) plan for the company
  • Cultivate and initiate proper companywide training programs on regular and consistent basis
  • Work with department leads and supervisors to review LockOutTagOut (LOTO) procedures
  • Chemical handling storage hazardous materials manifesting
  • Understand building and equipment safety
  • Oversee waste management and disposal
  • Review and update documentation for safety programs ensuring they meet industry standards
  • Conduct Safety Audits and evaluations for measuring EHS Performance goals

Requirements

  • Work independently; Ability to initiate programs and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detailoriented and organized
