Join us! The GoFundMe team is searching for a Risk Analyst I. In this dynamic role you will be required to operate at an impeccable level of consistency while mastering new techniques and technologies to ensure GoFundMe remains a safe place to give online. You will need to work independently and manage your schedule so you can adhere to internal SLAs and respond to customers in a timely and effective manner.
Trust & Safety is an integral part of GoFundMes business. It drives growth builds and nurtures our brand and ensures that we always do the right thing by our customers. The Risk Compliance and Trust & Safety team is at the front line of GoFundMes efforts to protect donors fundraiser organizers beneficiaries and our company from financial crimes and abuse. As a member of the Trust & Safety team you will be responsible for providing highquality email support to ensure the authenticity of fundraisers campaign organizers and beneficiaries. You will also be required to recognize and action accounts as well as escalate relevant fundraisers to senior team members to perform a more indepth analysis of accounts.
The Job
- Providing highquality email and occasional phone support to customers and other stakeholders to ensure fundraiser authenticity and safe delivery of funds for beneficiaries.
- Conducting customer due diligence reviews on individuals to support escalation pathways to the Compliance team for enhanced due diligence reviews focusing on sanctions and watchlist screening Politically Exposed Person(s) CounterTerrorism Financing and financial crimes
- Evaluating fundraiser and account attributes for unusual activity and escalating identified risks for final determination and/or next steps.
- Conducting due diligence on organizations including but not limited to identity verification and watchlist management to ensure entities comply with our Terms of Service and applicable laws and regulations.
- Collecting and analyzing information on organizations governance operations and financial performance.
- In times of global crisis supporting the Trust & Safety team to set up crisis monitoring protocols and proactively assisting affected customers and other stakeholders as needed.
- Working crossfunctionally with Compliance Risk Legal Customer Operations payment processor risk teams and others to ensure fundraisers on GoFundMe are legitimate and donations are delivered to the correct parties.
- Fielding questions connected to customer due diligence from the Go To Market Communications and Public Affairs teams.
- Developing a deep understanding of trust and safetyrelated issues experienced on the platform.
You
- 12 years of related work experience working in trust & safety payments compliance and/or risk management operations
- C1 fluency or higher in English required
- Exemplify company core values and embody team culture
- Excel in individual metrics to adhere to Service Level Agreements and maintain strong quality standards while contributing to improving the teams operational performance
- Fast learner with initiative and follow through without sacrificing quality
- Ability to work with ambiguity thrive in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities and quickly adapt to process and policy changes
