Job Description
Plateau Group is seeking an Environmental Conservation Specialist specifically having knowledge and experience with DoD Land Resources Management specifically Wildland Fire Management Programs. This position will be part of an Environmental Quality Program team supporting Environmental Business Processes and Environmental Program Support for our DoD Customers. Applicants must have strong team leadership and program management skills as well as a strong understanding of the Conservation environmental business process to map these needs into IT technical requirements.
The individual will be responsible for supporting DoD Environmental Programs and the Program Managers with tasks such as but not limited to analyzing coordinating and verifying Conservation data and the IT solutions that support this data. Applicant must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate ability to communicate with various DoD clients as well as strong teamwork ability to work with managers supervisors engineers and developers towards propelling the organizational needs and meeting the contractual obligations.
Prior experience or knowledge of working with NOAA GIS Mapping WFMIS System.
- Eligibility to receive Common Access Card (CAC) and National Agency Check w/ Inquiries (NACI) may be required
- Bachelors degree required
- At least 5 years of DoD Conservation experience
- Gather intelligence from application owners about application needs and map them to strategic directions
- Must possess strong analytical skills and pay strong attention to details
- Evaluate and draw conclusions from data related to customer behavior
- Assume responsibility for project tasks as assigned by project management and ensure they are completed in a timely fashion
- Evaluate issues and identify corrective actions
- Prioritize work and meet deadlines
Preferred:
- Strong client engagement capabilities
- Ability to progress with little oversight
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
- Demonstrate strong IT skillset in common software suites such as Microsoft Office.
