As a Therapeutic Activities Aide you will conduct planned sessions of resident activities under the direction of the Therapeutic Recreational Services staff. Your work will lead the residents of the Southwestern Veterans Center to their highest level of physical cognitive and social abilities. Your duties will include assisting in planning organizing scheduling and conducting recreational and educational activities to enhance or retain the residents functionality in the areas of socialization interpersonal relationships selfrespect selfesteem and selfhelp. You will also conduct and participate in program activities such as social parties dinners bus and van rides games field trips crafts and other leisure time activities. Additionally you will create a safe space for residents and visitors maintain working relationships with veteran organizations and act as a lead worker for volunteers at the center.
