The Commission is pleased to inform employees of our upcoming Trades Apprenticeship Program which is part of our Career Development Program designed for employees interested in a trades related career. The Apprenticeship programs initial classes begin onJuly 15 2025 for one employee selected into the Plumbing Trade out of our Randall Farm facility. This fouryear program will prepare this employee to obtain a journey level license in the Plumbing trade.The programs eligibility requirements are:
Satisfactory completion of probation no later than April 1 2025
Rating of 2 on most recent performance evaluation
No disciplinary actions in the last two years
Possess English language competency (able to read write and comprehend)
Possess High School Diploma or General Education Diploma
18 years of age and older
Current and valid drivers license

The selected candidate will be interviewed and if chosen will be placed in the Trades Apprenticeship job classification and receive onthejob training at the Randall Farm facility with a requirement to attend classes two nights a week. The Commission will pay the cost for all tuition and books. Upon completion of the program employees will be required to remain employed with the Commission for a minimum of two years.
Our 2025 Trade Apprenticeship info sessions will be held on April 8 2025 at our Green Farm facility at 8 AM and on April 9 2025 at our Randall Farm facility at 8 AM. Please contact Berlyn Best via email on orwith any questions or concerns.
Supplemental Information
Drivers License Release Form this position requires a current and valid drivers license. Employees who have a State of Maryland or District of Columbia License are to complete and submit their Drivers License Release form along with their application. Employees who have an out of state license do not need to complete the Drivers License Release Form but arerequiredto reach out to their States Motor Vehicle Department (online) to obtain a validation report (depending on the state this is a 3year driving history).
