Hourly Rate: $65 an hour
Job Purpose:
Responsible for all operational aspects of the AllHealth Network Pharmacy focusing on customer service quality profitability and inventory management. Maintain compliance with the Colorado Board of Pharmacy regulations. Direct and monitor the daily work of Pharmacy Technicians.
Goals and Objectives:
1. Achieve and maintain competency in all aspects of pharmacy operations
Crosstrain on different pharmacy processes
Identify and research ways to implement new pharmacy processes and improvements
Develop and apply upgraded computer/technical skills that enable accurate and efficient dispensing/counseling processes
2. Complete professional continuing education requirements attend conferences and attain applicable certifications to enhance skills as an effective pharmacist
3. Develop enhance and/or maintain programs/services based on communityspecific patient needs
Contribute to the development and implementation of a marketing strategy to support
current and new programs/services
4. Establish collaborative pharmacistpatient relationships
5. Use appropriate technique(s) and clinical skills to accurately and effectively administer medications including immunizations
6. Use effective communications skills when providing patient education (e.g. patient education materials verbal education and training) designed to enhance patient understanding and appropriate use of medications
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure that the AllHealth Network Pharmacy provides quality care to patients including prescription information and assistance
Ensure strict pharmacy compliance with HIPAA regulations and other laws and standards related to the protection of confidential patient information
Maintain a clean and organized work area to maximize workflow efficiency and minimize errors
Supervise the pharmacy technicians and/or interns delegate work effectively and assist in technician training
Receive interpret and prepare prescription fills and refills accurately in compliance with federal state and local laws and regulations
Complete all required paperwork legibly by established time frames and to accepted standards of practice
Ensure proper maintenance of all Pharmacy patient records as well as proper disposal of confidential consumer information
Assist with ordering receiving and stocking of merchandise ensuring proper stock rotation and inventory control
Monitor facility and employee compliance with infection control policies
Answer questions and provide information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions side effects dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals if counseling offer is accepted
Actively engage patients with respect to program integrations and services offered by the pharmacy
Maintain established procedures concerning quality assurance security of controlled substances and disposal of hazardous waste
Maintain disease and treatment knowledge via current literature and clinical practice guidelines
Maintain awareness of third party Rx systems and resolve third party rejection problems promptly resubmitting rejected claims for payment on a timely basis
Report prescription errors immediately and adhere to company policy regarding medication incidents
Develop and maintain a good working relationship with physicians and other health care professionals in order to better assist the customer
Demonstrate reliability and dependability through consistent and ontime attendance at work
Demonstrate strong customer service good communication and professionalism with patients coworkers and outside agency personnel in order to provide high quality services and to enhance community relationships
Attend and participate as an active member in AllHealth Network meetings trainings and supervision as directed
Follow all AllHealth Network and Pharmacy departmental policies and procedures
Complete all required trainings as listed in Relias Learning (both online training and facetoface training) within required timelines
Perform other duties as required within the scope of the position and the experience education and ability of the employee as directed by the Pharmacy Director/Pharmacy Manager/Pharmacist including but not limited to:
o MTM Consultations
o Immunizations
o Adherence Monitoring
o May be selected to be the infection control officer
Key Technical Skills and Knowledge:
a. Education
Graduate of an approved School of Pharmacy and current Pharmacist license in good standing in the State of Colorado.
b. Experience: Must have experience in pharmacy and a strong knowledge of pharmacy practices. Proof of current Pharmacist license required.
c. Skills: Must maintain a courteous and respectful approach to patients staff community referral sources and administrative staff. Possesses good analytical ability to gather and interpret information and to recommend and implement solutions. Must have strong oral and written communication skills. Working long hours between breaks or meals may be required.
d. Other: Ability to life equipment and supplies up to 15 lbs.
